Visits to the Bavarian Parliament

The Bavarian Parliament provides facilities for groups and individual visitors to attend plenary sessions and committee meetings. On days when no meetings are being held, groups which have booked in are given the opportunity of joining an information tour combined with a visit to the Maximilianeum. As a rule, group visits follow this schedule:
Attendance at a Plenary Session/Committee Meeting
By way of introduction, a video film is shown focusing on the
functions and history of the Bavarian (approximately 25 minutes).
Attendance at a plenary session or committee meeting (approximately 1 hour)
Talk arranged with a member of parliament (approximately 1 hour)

Information Visit
By way of introduction, a video film is shown focusing on the functions and history of the Bavarian Parliament (approximately 25 minutes), Discussion with members of parliament in the plenary hall or, in the absence of MPs, information focusing on the parliament and the history of the Maximilianeum as well as a tour of historic rooms of interest (approximately 1 hour).
Schools Group Visits
School groups are given the opportunity of gaining information on parliamentary proceedings within the scope of a visit to the Parliament. Responsible for conducted visits paid by school classes is the Parliament Education Officer at the Parliament Office. Such visits include:
Introduction (approximately 1 hour)
Attendance at a plenary session/committee meeting (1 hour)
Talk arranged with a member of parliament (approximately 1 hour)
Applications from Groups
Early applications are necessary and should be made in writing. These should be addressed to the Besucherdienst (Visitor Services Department) or, in the cases of school classes, to the Pädagogische Betreuung (Parliament Education Officer) Maximilianeum, D-81627 München/Munich.
